Mr. Victor was watching a lovely butterfly fluttering through the air when his little ears perked up. He slowly turned his head. A large, red machine was coming toward him. It grumbled and it roared, eating anything in its path. It was a lawnmower!

Mr. Victor ducked for cover but it was too late. All his pansies, daisies and cosmos were shredded into tiny bits and pieces. Mr. Victor signed as he picked up the remains of the pansy. He gently lifted the flower up, and let it go with the wind.

Over to the side, Mr. Victor saw a bumblebee. He blew the little pest away. Over to where the bee was buzzing stood a white fuzzy flower. To Mr. Victor it looked like a disruptive weed. He pulled it out but before he could throw it in the trash, the white fuzzy things on the weed blew away. Mr. Victor shrugged and put what was left of the weed in a garbage can.

Three days later, Mr. Victor went for a walk by his garden. Instead of seeing dirt, he saw little yellow flowers popping up everywhere. He picked one of the flowers and studied it. “This isn’t a flower”, he said, opening up his flower dictionary, “This is a weed, but,” he paused, “a very beautiful weed”

The next few days, Mr. Victor went around picking out the fuzzy flowers. He blew the fuzzies all over his garden. Then three days later, some more “dandelions” filled up his garden. Mr. Victor was so happy he could almost cry.

Before Mr. Victor even knew it, it was eight o’clock. “I should be getting to bed”, he said. He wished his flowers goodnight and went to sleep.

Mr. Victor yawned as he woke up the following morning. He went to go check on his flowers but nothing! There was not a single dandelion left. Mr. Victor looked down at the dirt. He sat on the soggy dirt and cried. “Oh my little flowers, why did you leave me?” he cried.

Suddenly his feet began to shake. He looked at the ground. About twenty new flowers popped up from the ground. “Maybe that’s all they needed,” said Mr. Victor, “Maybe all they needed was water, and a whole lot of sunshine!!”
