Little Garden Gnomes Make The Best Garden Gnomes
Most articles you read on this site are not going to be quite as opinionated as this one. This is simply a warning to those of you who may be a bit more sensitive. I know that it’s only my opinion and that lots of people really don’t care what it is, but I’m going to express it either way. Now, I clearly have a fondness for garden gnomes and lawn gnomes, but all garden gnomes are not created equal. I happen to believe that if you’re going to buy a garden gnome or lawn gnome, that the idea is décor and personal expression. The goal should not be to overwhelm your yard with oversized garden statues.
When it comes to garden gnomes, I prefer little garden gnomes, myself. Little garden gnomes, no more than fifteen inches tall are pretty much the limit before they become a bit out of place and perhaps gaudy. Now if you’re reading this and are saying to yourself, “Hey, I’ve got a two foot garden gnome…”, please don’t be offended. I truly don’t want to sound like I’m telling you how to live your life. I’m simply here on a mission. I want the world to take us gnome lovers seriously. I want people to stop thinking of gnome owners as crazy people with no sense of style. This just happens to be more difficult to accomplish when you’ve got a two foot tall garden gnome guarding your front door?
Gnomes by definition are small creatures. The world already has a bias toward garden gnomes and lawn gnomes and we need to come together as a team. When I bring up garden gnomes, I get sideways looks as if the person I’m talking to is trying to decide if I killed a few too many brain cells during college. We’re a rather small community but growing. It’s easy to bring someone who’s indifferent to gnomes over to our side by showing them a cute little garden gnome between six and twelve inches tall (e.x any of our NCAA Garden Gnomes, NFL Garden Gnomes, MLB Garden Gnomes). They tend say things like “oh, that’s cute, he’s so small”. Show that same person a two foot garden gnome and you’ve probably lost them for good. Our most popular garden gnomes are just under one foot tall. These are my favorite as they are still small enough to be cute, but large enough to make an impression.
As I’m writing this, I can only come up with one reason why a person would want such a large garden gnome. Large gnomes are probably more difficult to gnome-nap and take all over the world with you. They’re probably safer, but does it really matter? If you fear for your gnome’s safety, bring the little fella inside. That’s another wonderful thing about little garden gnomes. They work great inside too because they can sit nicely on a bookshelf without bringing too much attention to themselves.
So, the answer folks….little garden gnomes. You won’t find any lawn gnomes on our site that stand any taller than fifteen inches. We stand by our opinion of little garden gnomes being the way to go.
Since all of our gnomes are fifteen inches and shorter, you'll have no trouble finding the perfect garden gnome for yourself here. Some of our best sellers however, can be found below:
